A basic guacamole recipe made with only four simple ingredients (if you don`t count the salt and pepper). Serve as a party dip with tortilla chips and crunchy veggies, on toasted bread as a simple avocado toast, or to tacos.I bet this is your new favorite homemade guacamole - simple, quick to make, and absolutely delicious.
3-4perfectly ripe avocadosmedium/large - about 450-480 g avocado flesh
15gfresh red chili pepperabout 1 chili. Hot sauce to taste can be used as a substitute
5clovesfresh garlic
25mlfresh lemon juiceabout 1-1 ½ lemons
sea salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
Cut each avocado in two and remove the avocado stone and the small stem. If there are any dark brown spots in the avocado, remove these with a spoon. If you like your guacamole a little chunky set half an avocado to the side and add the rest of the avocado flesh to a large mixing bowl. If you like your guacamole completely creamy then add all of the avocado flesh to the bowl.
Finely chop the garlic and red chili, and squeese the lemon juice.
Add the garlic, chili and lemon juice to the bowl with the avocado.
Use a food processor like a hand held blender to creamify all the ingredients in the mixing bowl. If you do not have a hand held blender you can also use a potato masher.
Once your guacamole is smooth, add salt and pepper to taste. The chili adds a little heat to your guacamole. If you like it spicier then you can now add more chili, little by little, to taste.
If you wanted your guacamole a little chunky, then take the avocado you set to the side in step 1 and cut it into smaller squares. Add this cut avocado to the guacamole and mix in with a spoon.
(If you have any) store any leftover guacamole in an airtight container in your fridge for up to 2-3 days.If the surface of the guacamole turns slightly brown, simply mix it with a spoon to make the fresh green color pop again.
